STP is a significant change to the way business owners report their employees' tax and super information to the ATO and will be compulsory for all businesses with payroll from 1 July 2019. Using suitable payroll or accounting software, employers send their employees' tax and super information to the ATO each time they run their payroll and pay their employees.
If you are currently using cloud based accounting software which is already compliant for Single Touch Payroll the transition should be fairly seamless. Further information will be available from your software supplier and the ATO however please check with your bookkeeper or our office to review your systems and ensure that everything is in order for the 1 July 2019 start date.
If you have any questions about STP please don’t hesitate to call our office. Alternatively, we are also running the below free workshops on the topic for anyone that is interested.
Single Touch Payroll – East Fremantle, 11 April 2019
Single Touch Payroll – Inglewood, 28 May 2019
